OUR STORY
Who We Are
Medina & Associates was founded by Raúl Medina, Jr. in 2018. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Enrolled Agent, Raul brings more than 10 years of experience across tax preparation and accounting.
After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) in 2007, Raúl worked for a private multi-million dollar international corporation as a management accountant and then for two local CPA firms as an auditor and business consultant. More recently, he has worked as an independent tax and small business advisor.
During his work as a tax advisor, Raúl found that many small business clients were not properly advised by their former tax preparers. In fact, working with tax preparers that were not adequately trained - or worse, did not operate with their clients' best interest in mind - unfortunately led to these clients missing out on opportunities to identify and execute tax-saving strategies and facing large fines and penalties due to lack of compliance with the IRS and/or local authorities. Other small business clients faced these challenges because they did not seek the advice of a CPA at all due to cost.
This lead Raúl to form a CPA firm that not only prioritizes its clients' needs but also keeps the costs of its services reasonably-priced for small businesses.
